Building & Development

About Us:

The Building Division is responsible for enforcing building, housing, electrical, plumbing and mechanical codes in the unincorporated areas of Napa County. The Division reviews submitted building and construction plan and issues development permits. During the construction process, the Division performs field inspections to ensure that work (residential, commercial and industrial) conforms with State and County codes and ordinances.

Building and construction permitting process, plan submittal, plan review, permit issuance, document retention, development approvals required by others, and scheduling of inspections.

Next day inspection services for building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, disabled access, energy efficiency, and monitoring of the inspection process.

Code Enforcement

Investigation of citizen complaints of County code violations, through inspection, notification, communication and issuance of citations.

Seeking GIS/Planner Consultant

The Napa County Department of Conservation, Development and Planning is seeking a GIS consultant to maintain and develop our Geographical Information System (GIS) for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. You should be experienced and able to update and maintain the Department’s GIS data layers, and conduct spatial analysis to support project-specific analyses, policy development/implementation, and zoning code compliance.
