(St. Helena, Calif.--) CAL FIRE Director Del Walters has announced the appointment of Tim Streblow as the new Unit Chief for the Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit and Chief of the Napa County Fire Department, effective July 1, 2010.
Chief Streblow started his career with CAL FIRE in 1974 as a seasonal firefighter in the Lake-Napa Ranger Unit. In 1979 he accepted a permanent position as a fire apparatus engineer in the Napa Battalion. He promoted through the ranks working in various locations and positions in the Sonoma-Lake–Napa Unit, including the Emergency Command Center Chief, Napa County Fire Marshal, Training Battalion Chief, Field Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief and, most recently,Deputy Chief. He has served as the Incident Commander for CAL FIRE’s Incident Command Team #5 since 2004. Chief Streblow is a fourth generation Napa Valley resident.
"Tim's experience commanding some of California's largest and most complex incidents will serve him well in this new role," said CAL FIRE Director Del Walters. "He will be a valued addition to the department's leadership."
