Applicants sought for the State Council on Developmental Disabilities - Area 4 Board


 

(NAPA, Calif--) The County Executive Officer announces two (2) openings on the State Council on Developmental Disabilities Area 4 Board with terms of office to commence immediately upon appointment and expire Dec. 31, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2016:

• Two (2) General Public Members

No professional background experience is required, however, persons applying must not be employed as providers of services to persons with developmental disabilities, nor be members of the governing board of any entity providing such service, when that service is funded in whole or part with State funds. Persons applying must be residents of Napa County.

The Area Board consists of seventeen (17) members, five (5) of whom are appointed by the Governor and four (4) by the Boards of Supervisors of each of the counties involved (Napa, Solano and Sonoma) to consist of persons with developmental disabilities or the parents or legal guardians of such persons, and the public at large.

The Area 4 Board meets the third Thursday of every odd month from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting place rotates between the three counties involved (Napa, Solano and Sonoma). Reimbursement to cover mileage and meal cost is provided by the Area 4 Board.

Anyone interested in consideration for appointment must submit a completed application form and apply either through the above listed coordinating agency/organization or directly to the County Executive Office, 1195 Third Street, Suite 310, Napa, 94559, (707) 253-4421 no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 20, 2013.
