Who can get the H1N1 Vaccine Free?

As of Jan. 1, ANYONE who wants the H1N1 vaccine can get it FREE from Napa County Public Health.

  • Children must be at least 6 months old to get the H1N1 vaccine.
  • Children under 10 years old need TWO doses of the H1N1 vaccine at least once month apart.
  • Children under 18 years of age must be with a parent or guardian to get the H1N1 vaccine.

Who is at higher risk of serious illness and should strongly consider getting the 2009 H1N1 vaccine?

People who are at higher risk include:

  • Pregnant women
  • Children 6 months to 18 years of age
  • Young adults 19 to 24 years of age
  • Caregivers of children under 6 months of age (because children younger than 6 months cannot receive the flu shot)
  • Adults 25-64 years old who have a chronic medical condition (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes, immune conditions and other illnesses) that put them at higher risk of serious illness due to flu
  • Healthcare workers and Emergency Medical Service workers
