  CalFresh/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance/Food Benefits

The CalFresh Program, California’s version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP and formerly known as Food Stamps), assists low-income individuals and households to purchase nutritional food. You do not have to be on welfare to get CalFresh benefits.

Who is eligible for CalFresh?

Eligibility for CalFresh assistance, as well as the benefit amount, is based on your household’s size and income level. You must be able to meet State and Federal program rules for income, resources/property, residence and legal status in order to qualify for CalFresh benefits.

How do I apply for CalFresh?
  • Go to and submit an on-line application
  • Visit the CSOA office (bilingual assistance is available at both locations):
    • 650 Imperial Way, Suite 101, Napa - Monday though Friday from 8am - 5pm
    • 1705 Washington St., Suite I, Calistoga - (Fridays only) between 8am-5pm.

Completed applications may be returned to the CSOA office or mailed in.
