Salvador Bridge Removal Project, FC 17-01

The project site is located on the Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District’s Flood Control Easement along Salvador Creek four hundred and twenty five feet (425ft) upstream of Jefferson Street. The project encompasses the removal of the deck of the bridge, removal of the associated piers, and removal of the eastern bridge abutment. The bridge is forty three feet in length, twelve feet wide, and one foot thick. There are also two concrete pillars two feet in diameter and 8 feet in height. An erosion control blanket shall be installed on the creek banks within the footprint of the bridge removal. The blanket will be seeded with a native grasses and erosion control mix. A coir log will be installed at the toe of the eastern bank from the bridge removal to a distance roughly 50’ downstream. The coir log will be backfilled, planted, and seeded.  Access to the site will be confined to an existing vineyard road along the top of bank and the staging area will be limited to the vineyard road and a small area within the open field adjacent to the creek. Print, view, or download bid results. The project was awarded to Machado Brothers.
