The American badger is a nocturnal mammal that is native to California. Since 1987, they have been listed by California Department of Fish and Wildlife as a Species of Special Concern. Join Naturalist Susan Kirks as she shares observations from her 18 years of badger field studies. Ms. Kirks will discuss the American badger’s habitat and life-cycle, compare the American badger to the well-known honey badger, and share their important role in California’s coastal and upland grassland ecosystems.
