CalFresh is California's version of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that provides assistance for households to buy nutritious food. The program uses Electronic Benefit Transer (EBT) to allow recipients to buy food at retail stores and farmers' markets using a plastic debit card. Apply for benefits online
Goal is to shape policy on producing, accessing and distributing more local food, with emphasis on health through nutrition. Contact the Advisory Council or call the Ag Commissioner's Office at (707) 253-4357.

A federally funded nutrition program that provides nutrition education and breastfeeding support in support of ongoing health. Available free of charge to pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum women and children under the age of 5, who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.
Education sessions to provide tools and strategies for healthy eating and active living

A Health Balance Nutrition: A class to help you learn about nutrition, including food portions, habits, exercise, sugars and fats, and how all of these impact your health.
Health Cooking: A fun and interactive class; learn to make simple, healthy and delicious meals for the whole family.
Cooking Matters: Volunteer nutrition and cooking experts teach you how to choose and prepare healthy, low-cost ingredients
Healthy for Life: This school-based program emphasizes lifelong love of movement and healthy eating habits among children and adolescents.
