Napa County Community Health Assessments
Since 2006 the Napa County Public Health Division has partnered with local hospitals, healthcare providers, non-profit agencies, funders and community partners to conduct community health assessments. The organizations work together to gather and review existing demographic, health status and service data and community input to produce community health needs assessments. The assessments provide a foundation for community health planning, provide appropriate information on which policymakers, provider groups and community advocates can base improvement efforts and inform funders about how to direct grant dollars most effectively.
In 2012 a unique public-private partnership called "Live Healthy Napa County" was formed bringing together, among others, representatives not just from health and healthcare organizations, but also business, public safety, education, government and the general public to build strategies to realize a shared vision of a healthier Napa County.
