Biography
Belia, who lives in American Canyon with her children, was born in Napa and raised in St. Helena and Pope Valley and calls all of Napa County her home.
Education and Career
Prior to joining the Napa County Board of Supervisors, Belia was a law professor, operated her own company, and served as a member of the American Canyon City Council. Belia attended St. Helena public schools from kindergarten through high school. She graduated from Saint Mary's College of California in 1999 and University of California (UC) Hastings College of the Law in 2004. Upon admission to the State Bar of California, Belia worked as a civil litigator and employment counselor, advising Fortune 500 companies on labor and employment policies and procedures.
Community involvement
Belia's community services started over three decades ago, playing the piano for Veterans and Holderman Hospital at the Yountville Veterans Home.
Belia recognizes the important role nonprofits play in providing a livable and enriching community. Her community involvement includes incorporating the American Canyon Community and Parks Foundation, a formal member of the American Canyon Soroptimist International club, the baking project leader of the American Canyon 4-H club, a member of the Napa County 4-H Executive Board, and an honorary Commander at Travis Air force base.
