The Animal Services Unit of the Napa County Sheriff’s Office strives to provide professional animal control services to the community. The goal of the unit is to be responsive to the needs of the community regarding animal-related issues. Animal Control services include:
Educating the public in the humane philosophies and responsibilities of animal ownership
Fostering a better understanding of coexistence with wildlife
Providing assistance with animal rescue and transportation of sick/injured animals
Enforcing State and County animal welfare and animal control laws, including but not limited to: animal neglect or abuse, animals at large, rabies control
Animal bite investigation
Vicious or Dangerous Animal investigation
Emergency field services 24-hours a day
The Animal Services Unit does not conduct feral cat trapping or removal, or conduct relocation services for wildlife.
