About the Assessor's Office

In my capacity as the elected Assessor-Recorder-Clerk I want to provide as much information to the public as possible regarding property tax, document recording and other related issues. An informed public is the key to good customer service and to ensuring that every property owner and resident receives fair and prompt treatment. Some of the duties of the department include property tax assessment and parcel map maintenance.

Calamity, Reassessment, Property Tax Deferral & Rebuilding Options

  1. Property owners impacted by the 2017 Napa Fire Complex are eligible for a temporary reduction of their Proposition 13 base year value and deferral of the first installment of their 2017-2018 property tax bill. Learn about the calamity process and rebuilding options from the Assessor's article.

Calamity reassessment relief and deferral of the first installment of property taxes (unless paid by your mortgage company) are available by filing an application.

The application can be filed electronically with a digital signature. Learn how to create a digital signature.

No further action is needed on your part unless we contact you for more information.
