Coroner Case-C97-612 Found: October 17th, 1997
An unidentified male was found in the rural area of Mount Veeder in Napa County. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Evidence at the scene indicated he died in late 1980 to early 1981.
Items recovered at the scene include:
- Aviator Style Gold Rim Sunglasses
- Blue Sweatshirt
- Burgundy “New Balance” Running Shoes
- Hand-Made Heavy Leather Backpack (Unknown Manufacturer)
- Multicolored Vest
- Navy Blue “Polo” Brand Pull Over Shirt (Size-Medium)
- “Levi” Jeans
- “Ruger Bearcat” 22 Caliber Revolver
There were also many personal items in the back pack (toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.). The gun was traced to the Phoenix, Arizona area. The other personal items were untraceable.
Physical Description
White or Hispanic male, 33 to 45 years old, thin to medium build, 5’9” to 5’11” tall (5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall), possibly brown hair. The deceased had gold fillings in his teeth. No lower jaw was recovered but a dental chart on the upper teeth is available.
