Responsibilities

This section is responsible for:

  • Document Storage, Retrieval, and Management
  • Housing All Booking Records and Arrest Warrants
  • Managing All Official Sheriff's Reports, Records, and Statistical Information

The section is staffed by Sheriff's Records Tehnicians, who keep it operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Records section is open to the public Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to assist the public with:

  • Concealed Carry Weapon Permit Applications
  • Live Scan and Ink Fingerprinting
  • Records Requests Pursuant to the Public Records Act
  • Renewals and Various Other Services
  • Vehicle Storage or Impound Releases

Additional Duties

In addition, the records section processes all of the narcotic, sex and arson registrants who live in the unincorporated areas or in the contract cities of the county.  Visit the California Department of Justice's Internet website, which lists designated registered sex offenders in California - visit Megan's Law (registered sex offender data base) website.
