Wrestling

SAL SealThe Napa SAL Wrestling Club is open for boys and girls, grades K-8th. This is another Olympic event and one of the oldest sports known to human civilization. The program is designed to introduce kids to the sport of wrestling and allow them to participate in some local tournaments. The sport teaches hard work, discipline, character, and teamwork. Participants are instructed by Deputy Jesse Ward as well as several other Napa Sheriff’s Office Deputies. The program has become so successful that we have split the practice between elementary and middle school age wrestlers. Quite a few Napa SAL kids have become State and National champions in Middle and High school as well as at the College level. Some have even wrestled Internationally.

Napa SAL Wrestling practice season coincides with the CIF High Schools during the winter months. We occasionally will have summer open mat sessions as well. Participants should wear comfortable workout clothing and have wrestling shoes.
