Well and Onsite Wastewater Treatment

The Well and Onsite Wastewater Treatment subdivision within Environmental Health is responsible for regulating wastewater treatment and disposal systems in the unincorporated area of Napa County and parcels not served by public sewer located within city limits. The Well and Onsite Wastewater Treatment subdivision reviews and issues permits for water well construction, soil borings, monitoring wells and geothermal wells. 

The Well and Onsite Wastewater Treatment is also responsible for permitting and inspecting alternative sewage treatment systems, liquid wastewater haulers, winery wastewater ponds and holding tanks. Well and Onsite Wastewater Treatment staff review use permit applications, building permit plans and applications, and lot line adjustments for compliance with requirements found in Napa County Code.
