Online Permit Center: Getting Started

Launch Online Permit Center Opens in new window

Napa County has a number of services and permit applications available through its Online Permit Center (OPC)

We recommend reviewing the information available on the County website pages for the following County Departments and Divisions to determine which applications are currently available through the Online Permit Center:

  • Planning, Building and Environmental Services
  • County Fire
  • Public Works

We now offer a limited number of permit applications and services through the Online Permit Center ("OPC"), and we are working to launch additional permit types in the coming months. At this time, you can now submit applications for building permits online through the OPC, as well as making payments, and scheduling inspections. Please fully review the Building Division's submittal requirements for your project type before submitting an application; incomplete applications will be rejected.

Customers will need to register for an OPC user account to apply for permits, check the status of their permit application, pay fees, and schedule inspections. Register for your OPC user account at: Online Permit Center. Detailed instructions are available for How To Register for an Online Permit Center User Account. (Note: for Building Applications not submitted directly through the OPC, our staff may need to "associate" your OPC User ID to the record for you to use these OPC features. If so, please email your OPC User ID and your Building Record number to [email protected]

For the Planning & Conservation Division, we only offer the scheduling of virtual or in-office pre-application meeting requests for large projects, such as winery development through the Online Permit Center. At this time, we are not accepting Site Visit pre-application meeting requests through the Online Permit Center. Please contact Planning, Building and Environmental Services at (707) 253-4417 prior to making a request for a pre-application meeting for assistance, as many projects won't require the expense of scheduling a pre-application meeting (building projects rarely require a pre-application meeting).
