Project Scope

Damage was caused to Mt. Veeder Road MPM 5.1 from a storm event that occurred in Napa County in February 2017. Intense rainfall saturated the embankment causing an approximately 30-foot downslope slide and damage to approximately 320-foot-long segment of the roadway.  

The project proposes to reconstruct the road with a cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) concrete retaining wall that is 400’ long. The wall height varies from 4 feet to 10 feet and the pier depth for the 45 concrete-drilled piles (24 inches in diameter) is 20 feet. Best Management Practices (BMP) including erosion/sediment control is also part of the design.

Contract

Contractor shall possess a Class A license at the time of contract award. The Engineer's estimate is $1,250,000.
