Join us to celebrate the 209th birthday of the world-famous Ukrainian poet, Taras Shevchenko! Shevchenko’s poetry is like an eternal song of Ukrainian culture, and every Ukrainian knows his works by heart. From a Russian slave in 19th century Russian Empire, he grew up to be a writer, artist, public and political figure, folklorist, and ethnographer. 

The presenters of this event are Victoria Stepanenko and Vera Kaslina, members of the volunteer group Napa Valley to Ukraine, which among other things, promotes cross-cultural friendships.
