Napa County Library is excited to present Adrianne Summer, Author of The Colonel’s Contraband that tells the story of ER nurse and herbalist Seraphina Laurent collapsing after being enthralled by a portrait of Colonel Dr. Aaron Weld. Seraphina wakes up only to realize she is a black woman in 1862 Virginia during the Civil War, contraband of the Union Army, and face to face with Colonel Dr. Aaron Weld himself. Join us as Adrianne discusses The Colonel’s Contraband and her unique approach of historical images throughout the book. As well as all the historical information gathered to bring this book to life! Registration is required. This event is available to attend in-person or virtually over Zoom. Please specify the type of ticket you would like when you register.
