NAPA – The County Executive Officer announces four openings on the Napa County Housing Commission in the following categories: Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Napa Valley Vintners for four-year terms, and Tenant Commissioner and Tenant Commissioner (over 62) for two-year terms.
Housing Commission Purpose: The Housing Commission was created in April 2007 by the Board of Supervisors for the purpose of advising and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters that come before the Napa County Housing Authority, including: 1) operation and management of farmworker housing centers operated by the Authority; 2) allocation of the proceeds of the annual assessment established for County Service Area #4 and ensuring that said proceeds are audited every two years; 3) expansion of existing farmworker housing centers or the creation of new centers; and 4) advise the Board of Supervisors on appropriate use of housing funds for affordable housing development projects
Qualifications: The Representatives for the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and the Napa Valley Vintners must be planted vineyard landowners or authorized agents of a planted vineyard landowner, subject to the assessment imposed by County Service Area No. 4. The Tenant Commissioners will be tenants of facilities operated by the Napa County Housing Authority, and one of those Tenant Commissioners will be required to be over the age of 62.
