Napa County Encourages Online Public Participation in March 17th Board of Supervisors Meeting

(NAPA, CA) During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Napa County is committed to public participation in County Government in a manner that is consistent with guidance provided by our Public Health official. These guidelines relate to social distancing, and are intended to protect everyone, especially those over 65 and those with other medical conditions.

Napa County has taken the following steps to utilize technology to encourage full public participation during the Board of Supervisor’s meeting on Tuesday, March 17th in order to comply with public health guidance:

  • Seating has been reduced in Board chambers.  County officials will make overflow seating available as needed at different locations.
  • Members of the public may always watch the meeting through local television or the County’s website at
  • Public comments may be emailed to [email protected].  Any written testimony submitted before 8 am the day of the meeting will be provided to the Board members electronically or in written format.  Public comment received during the meeting may be read into the record, and it will become part of the meeting archive as long as it is received prior to the Board’s vote on the item.
  • The meeting available via Zoom, and you can connect either online or through your phone.  If you connect via Zoom, please do not also view through television or our website, as there is a delay in these transmissions.

  • Participants using Zoom through the phone only can text their name and the item they wish to comment on to 707-666-5749.  Please make sure we can see your phone number so that we can unmute you (for example, if you routinely block your number from caller ID).
  • At the end of public comment, all others participating by phone will have a chance to comment.

In order to facilitate remote participation for all, please remember a few courtesies of conference calls:

  • Please mute your phone unless you are speaking.
  • Please do not put the call on hold!
  • Please do not have the television/County website transmission of the meeting playing also.
  • Please be patient with us as we adjust to these changes.

Napa County officials will evaluate these steps after this meeting, in order to continue to improve our remote public participation process.  These steps are designed to make our meeting accessible to everyone, but if you need additional accommodations for remote participation, please contact the Clerk of the Board at 707-253-4580.
