Napa County Fire Department/CAL FIRE is currently on scene of a half dozen fires that began overnight. Just after noon today, the largest of the fires that began near Hennessy Ridge Road experienced a significant down draft of winds that caused a rapid expansion of the fire. This fire is named the Hennessy Fire and has currently burned 750 acres. Evacuations areas are listed below. A shelter location is being set up at Crosswalk Community Church in Napa, 2590 First St., Napa CA 94559. Individuals who are seeking shelter are reminded to bring a face covering, practice good hygiene habits and adhere to physical distancing.
A second fire, called the ‘Gamble’ fire, has burned 375 acres and is burning near Eastside Rd. but at this time, does not pose an immediate threat to any residences.
The remaining four fires are smaller in size and do not pose an immediate threat to any residences. However, due to unstable atmospheric conditions, residents are asked to remain vigilant. For more information on how you can prepare for wildfires, visit www.readyforwildfire.org.
Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued due to the Hennessey Fire, for the following areas:
- Hwy 128 from Lower Chiles to Monticello
- Hwy 128 from Chiles Pope Valley Road to Lower Chiles Road
- Chiles Pope Valley Road from 128 to Lower Chiles Road
- All of Hennessey Ridge Road
Evacuation advisories are for the following areas:
- Hwy 128 at Silverado Trail to Chiles Pope Valley Road, including the Pritchard Hills Area
- Hwy 128 at Lower Chiles Road to Turtle Rock
Road closures in area include:
- Chiles-Pope Valley Road
- Sage Canyon Road
- Highway 128
Please Note: Wildfires are dynamic incidents. Residents near the fire area are asked to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of emergency personnel. Unaffected residents are asked to avoid the area.
