The Napa Sheriff’s Office is pleased to offer the 15th Sheriff Citizen’s Academy. The academy will run in May 2022 and sessions will be approximately be 3 hours on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-9:00pm. The Academy will be held at the Napa County Sheriff’s Department, located at 1535 Airport Blvd., Napa.
The Academy provides participants with an opportunity to interact with members of law enforcement (Sheriff’s Office, Napa Dispatch Center, and other professionals in public safety) while learning and performing (through role–playing) the job duties of a law enforcement officer. By the time the Academy is complete, all participants will have special insight into the inner workings of the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement in general. It should be noted this Academy is not intended to prepare participants for a career in Law Enforcement.
All Applicants Must:
- Be 18 years of age
- Live or work in the County of Napa.
- Not have any felony convictions or any misdemeanor convictions that would bring discredit to the Program or the Sheriff' Department.
- Be able to endure graphic material.
The Sheriff Citizen's Academy is limited to 20 persons. Upon signing the application below the applicant understands that the Sheriff's Department may conduct a personal history background check to determine suitability for the program. The background investigation may include a reference check, credit check, and a criminal history check.
The deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 11th at 5:00pm. Applications can be found downloaded on the Citizen Academy webpage.
