All ages are invited to join the Summer Library Adventure at the Napa County Library. Registration begins Tuesday, May 31st. Register by picking up a log at your library, or by visiting us online. This year’s theme is “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.” Everyone is invited to read, discover new books, materials and events at your local Napa County Library this summer. There is no charge to participate in the Summer Library Adventure, events or to check out library materials.

The Summer Library Adventure is designed to cultivate the enjoyment of books, reading, and using library resources. Library staff has planned a wonderful assortment of events, activities and prizes that will help to keep infants, children, teens and adults engaged in reading activities all summer long.

Summer Library Adventure highlights include:

  • Self-paced reading for fun.
  • Drawings for some exciting rewards.
  • Children ages 3-11 who read will receive rewards.
  • Interactive Storytimes.
  • Wee Storytimes and early literacy activities for infants.
  • Creative arts & crafts
  • Puppet shows, musical storytelling and so much more!

Studies have shown that children who read, and keep their brains active during the summer, enter school in the fall ready to learn and succeed. A schedule of programs, activities, and storytimes will be available online or at your Napa County Library.

Beginning July 8th through August 1st, participants ages 3-11 who have completed their book log or received their online completion badge for reading twenty hours, will receive rewards and certificates.

This program is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Library in Napa, American Canyon, Calistoga, and Yountville. It is a project of the California Library Association, supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. For more information, visit us online at napalibrary.org/sla, or contact the Napa Main Library at 707-253-4070.

The Board of Supervisors and staff of Napa County are dedicated to preserving and sustaining Napa County for present and future generations as a community with generous open space, a thriving agricultural industry, and a quality human and natural environment.
