[ARCHIVED] County celebrates opening of Carneros Fire Station with ribbon cutting ceremony

Carneros Fire Station ribbon cutting ceremony

NAPA, CA  – Napa County today held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Carneros Fire Station located at 5260 Old Sonoma Road. In attendance at the ceremony was Board of Supervisors Chair Belia Ramos and Vice Chair Joelle Gallagher, Deputy Chief of the Napa County Fire Department Jason Martin, Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit Chief Mike Marcucci and Public Works Director Steve Lederer.

The $2 million satellite fire station replaces the facility located at 4301 Old Sonoma Highway and spans 1,850 square feet to accommodate two fire trucks. The fire station features upgrades that offer more space for fire truck driveway access, a fire truck turnaround, an emergency generator, a vehicle wash area, a parking area, utility improvements, drainage, and landscaping. The facility is situated along a plot of land acquired through a development agreement with Carneros Resort.

“The project was a cooperative effort to relocate the old station that fit one fire truck to a new location that can accommodate two fire trucks,” said Deputy Chief Jason Martin. “The land use agreement provided an opportunity to increase services for Napa County.”

The fire station is part of the Carneros Volunteer Fire Company and operates as one of the volunteer stations under the Napa County Fire Department.

The project broke ground on August 4, 2021, and has been in operation since January 9, 2023.
