Health Care Plan Changes to Medi-Cal Beneficiaries

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is changing how it contracts with managed care plans effective January 1, 2024. Some Medi-Cal beneficiaries may receive notices about these changes.

How does this affect Napa County Medi-Cal members?

Minor changes are being made in Napa County. Most Medi-Cal members are enrolled into Partnership Health Plan for managed care. In January, some people may have another choice of Kaiser as an alternate health care service plan.

What does this mean for me?

If you are enrolled in Partnership Health Plan in September 2023, then…

You will remain enrolled in Partnership Health Plan in 2024 and no action is required on your part.

If you are enrolled in Partnership Health Plan in September 2023 and want to move to Kaiser in 2024, then…

You may request to move to Kaiser if you meet certain criteria:

    • Have previously enrolled with Kaiser at any point during calendar year 2023 or have existing Kaiser membership
    • Have family linkage to Kaiser
    • Are dually eligible for Medi-Cal and Medicare
    • Are a foster care youth
