Message from the CEO

Welcome to Napa County News, a brand new monthly e-newsletter from your county government.

Each month we will be publishing news stories and feature articles about the people and work happening throughout the County.

We began this e-newsletter so our community can be better informed about their county government—what it does (road work, housing, health and human services, land-use regulations, accounting, election, law enforcement, etc.) as well as who is doing the work.

There are more than 1,400 county employees working to provide important services to residents of Napa County. These 1,400 staff are dedicated public servants who have their own stories to tell, and this e-newsletter will feature many of them to give our readers a better idea of who’s serving the community and to learn about the faces behind our motto: Commitment to stewardship.

We will also be providing updates from the Board of Supervisors — something I’ll be doing each month in this section of Napa County News.

In the coming months, the Board plans to:

  • Invest more money in affordable housing.
  • Explore funding for our Area Agency on Aging to fully meet our seniors’ needs.
  • Conduct public workshops on cannabis access and commercial cultivation in the unincorporated areas of the County.
  • Schedule public meetings to engage all stakeholders to discuss formation of an advisory committee on the Groundwater Sustainability Plan.
