What is involved in the hiring process for a position with the Napa County Department of Corrections?

The Napa County hiring process is the following: 

  1. When the recruitment is open, submit an application showing that you have the minimum qualifications.
  2. Most positions require written exam.
  3. For most positions, you will be placed on the eligibility list based on your written score (for Correctional Officer positions it is a combined score from a written and oral exam).
  4. You will have an oral interview.
  5. Successful candidates will be given a background package to complete.
  6. After successfully completing the background, you will be given a conditional job offer.
  7. If the position you are applying for requires it (Corrections Officer) you will be given a psychological screening exam and then a medical exam
